Gyökérzárkózotthoz is a Hungarian term that translates to "root canal treatment" in English. It refers to a dental procedure aimed at saving a tooth that is severely decayed or infected. The process involves removing the infected or inflamed pulp tissue from inside the tooth, cleaning and disinfecting the inner canals, and then filling and sealing them.

The pulp is the soft tissue within a tooth that contains nerves, blood vessels, and connective tissue. When this pulp becomes infected or inflamed due to deep cavities, repeated dental procedures, or cracks in the tooth, it can cause significant pain and may lead to an abscess. If left untreated, the infection can spread and potentially lead to tooth loss.

Root canal treatment is typically performed under local anesthesia, making the procedure relatively painless. After the pulp is removed, the canals are carefully shaped and cleaned using small instruments. Antiseptic solutions are used to flush out any remaining debris and kill bacteria.
