Genootschap (plural genootschappen) is a Dutch term for an organized association or fellowship of people sharing a common interest, profession, or charitable aim. The word covers a broad set of bodies, from formal non-profit associations to more loosely organized clubs, and, in historical usage, even certain forms of commercial partnerships.
