Gasellit are a type of antelope found in Africa and southwestern Asia. The term "gaselle" is often used more broadly to refer to any of the numerous species within the Antilopini tribe, which also includes gazelles, springboks, and gerenuks. These animals are known for their slender build, long legs, and distinctive markings, which vary depending on the species.

Many gasellit species are adapted to arid and semi-arid environments, inhabiting grasslands, savannas, and deserts. They are primarily herbivores, feeding on grasses, leaves, and shrubs. Gasellit are renowned for their speed and agility, capable of reaching high velocities to escape predators. Some species also exhibit a behavior called pronking or stotting, where they leap high into the air with all four legs held straight. This behavior is thought to signal fitness to potential mates or warn other gazelles of danger.

The social structure of gasellit varies, with some living in small herds and others forming larger aggregations. Mating systems also differ, but territoriality and dominance displays are common among males. Females typically give birth to one or two offspring after a gestation period of several months.

Several gasellit species face threats from habitat loss, hunting, and competition with livestock. Conservation efforts are in place for many endangered populations to protect them and their ecosystems.
