fröutvecklingen
Fröutvecklingen, often translated as seed development, is a crucial stage in the life cycle of flowering plants (angiosperms) and gymnosperms. This process begins after fertilization, when the ovule within the ovary of a flower matures into a seed. The developing seed contains the embryo, which is the rudimentary plant, and a food source to sustain it during germination. This food source can be in the form of stored endosperm or be absorbed by the cotyledons (seed leaves) which also form part of the embryo.
The outer layers of the ovule develop into the seed coat, providing protection to the internal embryo
