Feedcontrol is a term used to describe systems that regulate the input rate, composition, or timing of feeds into a process, machine, or data pipeline. It is applied across industries to ensure stability, quality, or compliance.

In industrial and process engineering, feedcontrol relies on sensors to measure feed parameters such as mass flow, volume, concentration, or energy input. A controller compares the measured value to a reference and sends commands to actuators such as valves, feeders, pumps, or conveyor speed controls to adjust the feed.

Common control strategies include feedback control that uses the difference between setpoint and measurement, often implemented with PID algorithms; feedforward control that anticipates disturbances; and model predictive control for complex dynamic processes. Robust design accounts for noise, delays, and nonlinear behavior.

In software and data systems, feedcontrol can refer to rate limiting, queuing, and prioritization of content feeds. It helps manage bandwidth, reduce jitter, and ensure timely delivery of information while preserving system resources.

Typical applications include chemical processing, food and beverage production, mining, agriculture irrigation systems, and automated manufacturing lines, as well as data platforms handling RSS/ATOM feeds or streaming content.
