feedbacklinked
Feedbacklinked is a concept used to describe a design approach in systems and interaction design in which feedback mechanisms are tightly coupled with actions or events. The aim is to ensure that every input or triggering event yields immediate, intelligible feedback that informs the next step.
Origin and scope: The term is not universally standardized and appears in late 2000s and 2010s writings
Key principles include closure of the feedback loop, speed of feedback, clarity and relevance of feedback, traceability
Applications: In software, interfaces designed with feedbacklinked provide immediate status updates after actions; in manufacturing, processes
Implementation considerations and challenges: Design teams must balance information richness with cognitive load; excessive or delayed
