eleganssia is a genus of microscopic nematodes belonging to the family Panagrolaimidae within the order Rhabditida. The genus was first described in 1984 by the Russian nematologist V. Pirogov, who isolated the type species, eleganssia gracilis, from soil samples in the temperate forests of southern Siberia. Subsequent molecular surveys have identified several additional species, including eleganssia yunnanensis from China and eleganssia japonica from Japan, expanding the known geographic range of the genus across Eurasia.
