Diskusije (in Serbo-Croatian languages: diskusije) are organized exchanges of ideas among individuals aimed at exploring a topic, clarifying positions, solving problems, or generating new knowledge. The term is used in everyday conversation as well as in formal settings, and its roots trace back through Latin and other European languages to the notion of thorough examination and debate.

Characteristics of diskusije include clearly defined participants, a topic, and a goal; the presence of guidelines or rules; a moderator or facilitator in formal settings; and practices such as turn-taking, evidence-based argumentation, and respect for differing viewpoints. They can take various formats, including informal conversations, structured debates, panel discussions, roundtables, and online discussions in forums or comment threads. Formats can be synchronous (in person or live video) or asynchronous (written discussions and forums).

Moderation and governance are important for constructive discourse. Effective diskusije often rely on civility, relevance, fact-checking, and clear norms about speech, with a moderator managing time, speaking order, and conflicts. The outcomes may include reached or clarified consensus, better understanding of positions, or informed decisions, though not all discussions produce agreement.

Benefits and risks accompany diskusije. They can foster knowledge sharing, critical thinking, problem solving, democratic deliberation, and conflict resolution, but they may also spread misinformation, enable manipulation, create echo chambers, or lead to polarization and dominance by louder voices. Diskusije are used in education, journalism, governance, and online communities, and are studied in disciplines such as discourse analysis and argumentation theory.
