Disbalancë is a term used in Albanian to describe a condition in which the components of a system are not in proper proportion, alignment, or interaction, resulting in disproportionate forces, motions, or outcomes. The word derives from balancë (balance) with the negating prefix dis-, and it is used across many domains to indicate a departure from equilibrium.

In mechanical engineering and machinery, disbalancë occurs when rotating parts have uneven mass distribution or misalignment, causing vibrations, noise, wear, and reduced efficiency. Static imbalance appears when a single plane lacks a balanced center of gravity, while dynamic imbalance involves multiple planes. Correction involves balancing procedures, such as adding counterweights or realigning components.

In physiology, disbalancë can refer to disturbances in bodily systems where homeostasis is disrupted. Vestibular, sensory, or metabolic processes may be out of balance, leading to symptoms like dizziness or fatigue.
