Defibrillattor is a commonly misspelled variant of defibrillator, a device used to treat certain life-threatening heart rhythms by delivering an electric shock to restore a normal heartbeat. Defibrillation is most effective for ventricular fibrillation and pulseless ventricular tachycardia, conditions in which the heart’s electrical activity is disorganized.
