A ceiling cassette is a type of air conditioning or ventilation unit designed to be installed within a suspended ceiling. These units are known for their discreet and integrated appearance, often featuring a square or rectangular grille that blends seamlessly with the ceiling tiles. The main body of the unit is concealed above the ceiling, leaving only the functional grille visible.

Ceiling cassettes are particularly popular in commercial spaces like offices, retail stores, and restaurants, as well as in residential settings where aesthetics are a priority. Their design allows for efficient air distribution in multiple directions, typically four, which helps to create a more uniform temperature throughout the room and avoid drafts. This multi-directional airflow is a key advantage over some other types of indoor units.

Installation involves cutting a hole in the ceiling grid and mounting the unit securely. The refrigerant lines, drainpipe, and electrical connections are then run above the ceiling to connect to the outdoor condenser unit and power supply. Maintenance is generally straightforward, with the grille providing easy access to the filter for cleaning or replacement.
