buikultrasoon
Buikultrasoon is a medical imaging technique that uses high-frequency sound waves to create real-time visualizations of the organs and structures within the abdomen, including the liver, gallbladder, pancreas, kidneys, spleen, and bowel. The examination is non-invasive and usually performed with the patient lying on an examination table while a gel is applied to the abdominal skin to facilitate transmission of the sound waves. A handheld transducer is moved over the abdomen to capture echoes that are converted into images by a computer.
The procedure can be ordered to evaluate abdominal pain, detect gallstones, assess organ size and structure,
Limitations include reduced ability to visualize deep or obscured structures and operator dependence. In some cases,
Related topics include ultrasonography and abdominal imaging.
