In practice, boardingcheckin can occur online, at self-service kiosks, at a check-in counter, or at the gate. The main objectives are to confirm the traveler’s identity and documents, ensure the itinerary matches the passenger, assign or confirm seating and boarding group, and issue a boarding pass (in paper or digital form).
