Bidimensionali is the plural form of bidimensionale, an Italian adjective used to describe objects, spaces or phenomena that have two dimensions. In mathematics and geometry, bidimensionale refers to a setting where every point can be described by two independent coordinates, typically length and width, with no height.

In geometry, the two-dimensional space, often called the Cartesian plane or Euclidean plane, is represented by pairs of real numbers (x, y). Common two-dimensional figures include lines, segments, polygons (such as triangles and quadrilaterals), and curves like circles and parabolas. Properties such as area and perimeter apply to 2D figures, while volume is a three-dimensional concept and does not pertain to purely bidimensional shapes.

Coordinate systems used to describe bidimensional spaces include Cartesian coordinates, polar coordinates and other variations that allow the location of points and the description of transformations. Operations such as translation, rotation and scaling preserve the two-dimensional nature of the objects they act upon.

Applications of bidimensional concepts are widespread in mathematics, computer graphics, engineering and design. Two-dimensional geometry underpins raster and vector graphics, computer-aided design (CAD) and geographic information systems (GIS). In everyday contexts, two-dimensional images are flat representations of objects and scenes. A related concept is codici bidimensionali, or two-dimensional barcodes, which encode information in two spatial dimensions; QR codes are a well-known example.
