algoraves
Algorave is a form of live coded performance in which artists create music and visuals in real time by writing and manipulating computer code during the show. The term combines algorithmic music with rave culture, and the practice emerged from the live coding and computer music communities in the early 2010s. During an algorave, performers project their source code and live outputs as the music evolves, allowing audiences to observe the programming process as part of the experience. The performances are typically modular, with multiple artists appearing in sequence or concurrently, producing techno, dance, or experimental electronic soundscapes that respond to audience energy.
Common tools include live coding languages and environments such as TidalCycles, SuperCollider, FoxDot, Sonic Pi, ChucK,
