Alarmkoder is a term used in several European languages, notably Danish, Norwegian, and Swedish, referring to structured codes that classify alarm events in security and emergency response systems. The codes are intended to communicate essential information quickly and unambiguously to operators and responders.

Typically an alarmkoder comprises a category indicating the general type of incident (for example fire, medical, intrusion) and one or more subcodes that specify the cause, location, or severity. In practice, codes are integrated into dispatch workflows, enabling operators to route calls, notify on-duty agencies, and log incidents for later analysis.

Because there is no universal standard, alarmkoder schemes vary by country, region, and service provider. National or municipal authorities may publish official coding schemes, while private security firms often maintain proprietary codes.

Historically, alarm codes emerged from the need to compress information transmitted over radios and telephones and to reduce language barriers in high-pressure environments.
