Xanadia

Xanadia is a fictional sovereign state located in a temperate coastal region of the continent of Elaria. It is a constitutional republic with a directly elected president and a prime minister who runs the cabinet. The capital is Valcrest, and the largest city is Nordhaven. The official language is Xanadian.

The country combines mountains with coastal plains. The Sable Mountains form much of the inland terrain, while the North Xan Ocean borders the coast. The Serin and Nyther rivers create fertile valleys. The climate ranges from temperate in the lowlands to alpine in the highlands.

Xanadia’s modern framework arose from 20th-century reforms and a constitutional charter adopted in 1982. Since then, power has been shared by the presidency and a unicameral parliament. The state has maintained civilian rule and stable governance.

Xanadia is a unitary state with five provinces. The Parliament has 120 seats and is elected for four-year terms. The president is head of state, the prime minister leads the government, and the judiciary is independent.

The economy is diversified, with services dominating GDP. Key sectors include electronics and machinery manufacturing, agriculture (grains and wine), and tourism. Hydroelectric and wind power are important, supporting exports to regional and international markets.

Population is about eight million. Xanadian is the official language; English and regional dialects are common among minorities. The country supports universal public education, and cultural life centers on literature, music, and festivals.

Valcrest hosts major institutions such as the Xanadian National Museum and Valcrest University. Nordhaven is the main port and economic hub. A national rail network links major cities, and Valcrest Airport serves international travel.
