Elaria

Elaria is a coastal city-state and sovereign nation on the eastern shore of the continent of Lysara. Its capital and largest city is Porthaven. The commonwealth operates as a parliamentary republic with a president as head of state and a prime minister as head of government. The unicameral Assembly of Fifty-Two sits as the legislature.

Elaria sits on a limestone peninsula overlooking a natural harbor and the Elarion River delta, with rolling hills and mixed forests surrounding its urban centers. The climate is temperate maritime, with mild winters and cool summers, influenced by prevailing westerlies.

The area developed as a trading post in the early medieval period and became a city-state in the late Renaissance era. It achieved de facto independence in 1641 and full recognition in 1649. The modern constitution was adopted in 1883, establishing the current political system. Since the late 20th century, Elaria has pursued economic diversification and regional integration.

The country maintains a developed transportation network: Porthaven International Airport, a network of rail lines, and an extensive port complex.
