WiFivõrgustikud, commonly known as Wi-Fi networks, are a wireless networking technology that allows devices such as computers, smartphones, and other electronic devices to connect to the internet or to a local area network without the need for physical cables. Wi-Fi operates using radio waves, typically in the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequency bands, as defined by the IEEE 802.11 standards.

The fundamental components of a Wi-Fi network include a wireless access point, which acts as a central hub, and wireless-enabled client devices. The access point connects to a wired network, such as a router or modem, and broadcasts a wireless signal. Security is a crucial aspect of Wi-Fi networks. Various security protocols, such as WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy), WPA (Wi-Fi Protected Access), and WPA2/WPA3, are employed to encrypt data transmitted over the network, preventing unauthorized access and protecting sensitive information.

The widespread adoption of Wi-Fi has revolutionized connectivity, enabling mobile computing, seamless internet access in homes, offices, and public spaces, and the development of numerous wireless applications and services.
