Such integration is common in modern consumer electronics, allowing both wireless networking and short-range device-to-device communication with reduced footprint and power use.

Wi-Fi, based on IEEE 802.11, provides high-bandwidth network connectivity and internet access; Bluetooth, including Bluetooth Classic and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), supports low-power, short-range communication for peripherals, syncing, and control. In a WiFiBluetooth implementation, a single chipset or module contains both radios and the necessary MAC/PHY layers and software stacks. The device's OS presents unified settings to manage both radios.

Coexistence: interference management is needed as both operate in 2.4 GHz in many cases; hardware and software co-existence mechanisms, such as adaptive channel selection, duty cycling, and antenna sharing, help minimize contention. Use cases include smartphones and laptops that connect to Wi-Fi networks while also pairing with headphones, wearables, or IoT sensors via Bluetooth; smart home hubs that connect to sensors over BLE and to the internet over Wi-Fi.

Market and standards: The term does not refer to a separate technology; standards bodies are separate (IEEE 802.11 for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth SIG for Bluetooth). Manufacturers market combo chips or modules as "WiFi + Bluetooth" or "WiFiBluetooth" to indicate dual-radio capability. Future trends include more power-efficient coexistence, higher integration, and support for newer Bluetooth versions and Wi-Fi standards.
