VideoStudio

VideoStudio is a Windows-based consumer video editing software developed by Corel Corporation. It originated as Ulead VideoStudio, released in the late 1990s, and was acquired by Corel in 2006, after which it continued under the VideoStudio brand. The program targets home users and hobbyists, offering a straightforward, timeline-based non-linear editor with a focus on fast editing and easy publishing.

Its interface centers on a multi-track timeline that supports drag-and-drop editing of video, audio, and title tracks. Included features cover transitions, a library of effects and titles, color correction and color grading tools, and basic audio editing such as noise reduction and volume envelopes. Recent versions add 4K and 360-degree video support, chroma key (green screen), motion tracking, and LUT-based color grading. The software also offers Live Screen Capture for recording on-screen activity and templates for disc authoring and social sharing.

VideoStudio is sold in two main editions: VideoStudio Pro and VideoStudio Ultimate. Ultimate typically contains a larger effects library, advanced 360-degree tools, HDR support, more comprehensive color-grading options, and additional plug-ins. Both editions provide hardware acceleration through interfaces such as OpenCL, CUDA, or Quick Sync when supported by the host computer, to speed up rendering and effects.

Platforms and export: VideoStudio runs on Windows and exports projects to common video formats and directly to video sharing sites such as YouTube and Vimeo. It is positioned as an accessible alternative to more feature-rich editors, with ongoing updates released by Corel.
