Vereesa

Vereesa Windrunner is a prominent elven character in the Warcraft universe, primarily known for her role as a ranger-captain and her deep personal connections. She is the younger sister of Alleria and Sylvanas Windrunner, both of whom have also played significant roles in the history of Azeroth. Vereesa shares her sisters' exceptional archery skills and their dedication to the defense of their people, the high elves and later the blood elves.

Initially, Vereesa was a loyal defender of Quel'Thalas, the ancestral home of the high elves. She witnessed firsthand the devastation of the Scourge invasion, a traumatic event that deeply affected her and her family. Following the fall of Quel'Thalas, Vereesa remained with the remnants of her people, eventually joining the newly formed Alliance. She became a respected member of the Silver Covenant, a faction of high elves and blood elves who opposed the Sunreaver faction's allegiance to the Horde.

Vereesa's personal life has been marked by both love and loss. She was married to Rhonin, a powerful human archmage and a key figure in the Kirin Tor. Together, they had twin sons, Larell and Lirath. Her husband's death during the events of the Cataclysm was a profound tragedy for Vereesa, fueling her resolve and often her anger. Her relationship with her sister Sylvanas has been particularly fraught, evolving from a shared past to outright opposition as Sylvanas embraced her destiny as the Banshee Queen and later as the Dark Lady, leading the Forsaken and eventually betraying the Horde. Vereesa represents a more traditional high elven perspective, valuing honor and loyalty to the Alliance above all else.
