Venstreidentitet, or left identity, is a concept used in sociology and political science to describe a person's sense of self that is tied to left-wing political values and movements. It goes beyond occasional policy preferences to frame one's political beliefs as an integral part of who they are. Proponents often link left identity to commitments such as social equality, solidarity, welfare state principles, labor rights, and environmental justice.
