Vatsyayana
Vatsyayana Mallanaga, commonly referred to simply as Vatsyayana, is traditionally identified as the author or compiler of the Kama Sutra, a Sanskrit treatise on love, sexuality, and social conduct. Very little is known with certainty about his life, and the biographical details that survive are largely traditional. Scholars often treat him as a learned Brahmin and priestly figure rather than a clearly documented historical individual, and the exact period of composition is debated, with estimates ranging from the 2nd to several centuries CE.
