Varikkopaikka

Varikkopaikka is a Finnish term that refers to a designated space for parking a vehicle, typically within a parking facility, a depot, or a private property. It is usually an assigned or reserved spot, marked with a number or sign, and is distinct from general, unassigned parking spaces.

In fleet management and public transport, varikkopaikka denotes the specific bay or position in a depot where a particular vehicle rests when not in use, for example a bus or tram in a varikko. Such spaces facilitate maintenance, scheduling, and charging where applicable.

In residential or commercial buildings, varikkopaikka can be the allocated parking space for a resident or tenant, often governed by a lease or parking contract. Access to the space is typically controlled by permits, gates, or assigned identifiers; unauthorized use can be subject to penalties.
