Vannposer

Vannposer is a term used in Norwegian to refer to water-filled bags employed in a range of applications. They are commonly found in outdoor and medical contexts, where they serve as reservoirs for potable water, as heating or cooling packs, or as portable water storage in emergency kits.

Origin and usage: The word combines vann (water) and pose (bag). In Norwegian manuals and outdoor gear catalogs, vannposer describe flexible bags designed to contain liquids, with varying capacities and connection features.

Applications include hydration systems for hiking and cycling, where a vannpose may be integrated into a hydration bladder; medical use as hot or cold bags for therapy or fever management; and emergency preparedness kits for temporary water storage.

Design and materials: Most vannposer are made of flexible plastics such as PVC or TPU, sometimes laminated to improve strength. Capacities range from around 0.5 liter up to several liters.
