This may involve durable materials and finishes, tamper-resistant fixings, anti-graffiti coatings, restricted access to mechanical components, and controlled lighting. Urban designers often apply Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) principles, maximize natural surveillance, and design for easy maintenance and graffiti removal to deter future acts.
