Umgehende

Umgehende is a German adjective, derived from the verb umgehen, meaning to circumnavigate, bypass, or go around. In its adjective form, umgehende describes something that is adjacent, immediate, or closely related, often in a spatial or relational sense. For instance, an umgehende Straße (adjacent street) lies next to the subject street, and umgehende Zeiträume (contemporaneous periods) refers to periods that occur simultaneously or in close proximity to each other.

The term is used in several disciplines. In geography and civil engineering, umgehende refers to surrounding or bordering geographical features, such as umgehende Gewässer (adjacent waters) or umgehende Berge (neighboring mountains). In legal contexts, umgehende forbestellungen may denote provisional or immediate orders that are executed pending final decisions.
