Ultrakiirpastöriseerimine, also known as ultra-high temperature (UHT) processing, is a method of sterilizing food products, most commonly milk, by heating them to a very high temperature for a very short period. This process typically involves heating the product to at least 135 degrees Celsius (275 degrees Fahrenheit) for a few seconds. The primary goal of UHT is to kill all microorganisms, including bacteria, yeasts, and molds, that could spoil the product or cause illness.
