Ujjayanta

Ujjayanta, commonly known as Ujjayanta Palace, is a royal palace located in Agartala, the capital of Tripura, India. The name Ujjayanta comes from Sanskrit and is often translated as “invincible” or “unconquered.” The palace is a landmark associated with the Manikya dynasty, which ruled Tripura for centuries.

The palace was constructed around the turn of the 20th century as the principal residence of the royal family. It was intended to reflect the wealth, modernity, and administrative aspirations of the time, and it occupies a prominent position within the city’s landscape, featuring a grand central area and surrounding wings.

Architecturally, Ujjayanta Palace presents an eclectic style that blends Indian and European influences.
