USCENTCOMs

USCENTCOM, or United States Central Command, is a unified combatant command of the United States Department of Defense responsible for military operations in the Central Command area of responsibility, which includes the Middle East, Central Asia, and the Horn of Africa. Established in 1983, USCENTCOM is headquartered in the Pentagon, Washington, D.C., with a forward command post in Doha, Qatar. The command is led by a four-star general officer, who serves as the Commander of USCENTCOM.

USCENTCOM's primary mission is to deter aggression, shape the security environment, and, when necessary, conduct full-spectrum military operations to achieve national security objectives. The command's areas of responsibility include counterterrorism, counterinsurgency, humanitarian assistance, disaster relief, and peacekeeping operations.
