UHTbehandlade refers to products that have undergone Ultra High Temperature (UHT) treatment, a process used primarily for extending the shelf life of liquids, particularly milk and other dairy products, as well as fruit juices, vegetable juices, and some beverages. The UHT process involves heating the product to a very high temperature—typically between 135°C and 150°C—for a short duration, usually 2 to 5 seconds. This rapid heating kills virtually all microorganisms, including bacteria, yeasts, and molds, while also denaturing enzymes that could cause spoilage.
