Tvaecí

Tvaecí is a Czech-language adjective used mainly in technical and artistic contexts to refer to forming, shaping, or presenting the face. The term is built from the noun tvář (face) with the adjectival suffix -ecí, yielding a word that denotes something pertaining to facial formation or appearance. The standard spelling in Czech is tvářecí; in non-diacritic texts it may appear as tvareci.

In practice, tvaecí is found in compounds and phrases describing materials, tools, or processes connected with facial shaping. Examples include tvářecí hmota (a molding compound or material used to form facial shapes), tvářecí maska (a mask designed to alter or conceal the face), and tvářecí protézy (facial prostheses). In sculpture, theatre, and special effects makeup, the term may describe methods and techniques for creating or modifying a face on a performer or statue. The sense can thus cover both cosmetic applications and more technical fabrication of facial forms.

Because it is specialized vocabulary, tvaecí is relatively uncommon outside fields such as sculpture, prosthetics, and makeup artistry. In everyday Czech, related concepts are usually expressed with tvář (face) or with verbs like tvářit se (to pose or to pretend) rather than using the adjective tvaecí.
