Tuloliitokset, the Finnish term for profit associations or business unions, are semi‑autonomous organisations that represent the interests of commercial enterprises within specific sectors or regions. They originated in the early twentieth century as a response to the increasing need for coordinated industry standards, economic policy advocacy, and collective bargaining. Each tuloliitto is typically voluntary and funded by membership fees, grants, and sometimes public subsidies.

The core functions of a tuloliitto include lobbying government bodies on regulatory matters, providing services such as market research, legal advice, and professional training, and facilitating networking among its members. Many tuloliitokset also publish industry reports, maintain databases, and organize trade fairs, thereby contributing to market transparency and competitiveness.
