Trycksprutdon, often translated as injection molding machine or injector, refers to specialized equipment used in industrial manufacturing. These machines are primarily employed for the mass production of plastic parts. The fundamental principle involves melting plastic pellets and then injecting the molten material under high pressure into a pre-shaped mold. Once the plastic cools and solidifies within the mold, the mold opens, and the finished part is ejected.

The process begins with plastic granules, which are fed into a hopper and then conveyed into a heated barrel. Inside the barrel, a screw mechanism rotates, melting the plastic and transporting it towards the front. Simultaneously, the screw moves forward, building up pressure to inject the molten plastic into the mold cavity. The mold itself is typically made of steel and designed to create the desired shape of the final product. After a cooling period, the mold opens, and a mechanism, often robotic, removes the part.
