Timemarkers
Timemarkers are discrete points on a media timeline that indicate when something notable occurs or when a user may want to navigate. Each timemarker is defined by a time position, such as hours:minutes:seconds, and often carries a label, note, or metadata. Timemarkers can be absolute, anchored to a clock time, or relative to the start of the file. They enable precise navigation, synchronization with transcripts, and coordination during editing and review.
In video and audio production, timemarkers mark chapters, cue points for effects, transitions, or key events.
