Timeframerather is a conceptual framework used to describe how systems or observers select and present events within a timeframe, emphasizing or de-emphasizing moments according to a chosen framing rule.

The term is used in discussions of temporal cognition, information design, and narrative theory to analyze time-based selections. It is not tied to a single discipline and has been applied in both theoretical and practical contexts, including data visualization, forecasting, and speculative fiction.

A timeframerather model pairs an event stream with a timeframe specification and a preference operator called "rather" that elevates events closer to the frame's center or nearer to specified anchors. It produces a filtered view or timeline, often with explicit scoring.

In dashboards, timeframerather helps highlight near-term risks while filtering out distant noise; in narrative design, it structures sequences to emphasize pivotal moments and alternative timelines.
