Polyurethane sealants offer superior strength and abrasion resistance, often used in demanding industrial settings. Acrylic sealants are generally cost-effective and easy to use, suitable for interior home repairs and less critical applications.

The selection of an appropriate sealant depends on factors such as the intended use, the materials being joined, environmental conditions, required flexibility, and expected lifespan. Proper surface preparation, including cleaning and sometimes priming, is crucial for achieving a strong and durable seal.
