It is described as a federal maritime republic situated in the southern archipelago of the imagined world of Nera, several hundred kilometers southeast of the continent of Nethra. The nation comprises five main islands and numerous islets, with a temperate maritime climate and diverse coastal ecosystems.

Settlement across the archipelago began in ancient times, with seafaring clans establishing trade networks. In the early modern era, a federation known as the Kingdom-Federation of Thekazellen united the islands. The modern constitutional framework emerged in the 19th and 20th centuries, and recent decades have seen efforts to diversify the economy and strengthen environmental protections.
