Textmodus

Textmodus is a term used in digital publishing and user interface design to describe a text-focused presentation mode that prioritizes readable typography and linear, distraction-free reading over rich media and complex layouts. In Textmodus, content is displayed with minimal chrome, suppressed images and animations, and a stable, left-aligned text flow designed for clarity and comfort during extended reading. The term is also used in German-speaking contexts, literally meaning “text mode.”

Many implementations also support dyslexia-friendly fonts, text spacing controls, and text-to-speech compatibility.
