Taunus

The Taunus is a low to moderately high mountain range in west-central Germany, located mainly in the state of Hesse with a small part reaching into Rhineland-Palatinate. It runs roughly north–south, forming the northern edge of the Rhine–Main urban region and lying to the west of the Main valley. The range is part of the Rhenish Massif and is characterized by forested highlands and scenic viewpoints.
