Feldberg

Feldberg refers to several geographical locations, most notably a mountain and a municipality in Germany. The Feldberg mountain, located in the Black Forest region of Baden-Württemberg, is the highest peak in the German Mittelgebirge at 1,493 meters. It is a popular tourist destination offering hiking, skiing, and scenic views. The summit area is a protected nature reserve, known for its unique moorland landscape and rare alpine flora.

The municipality of Feldberg, also in Baden-Württemberg, is situated on the slopes of the Feldberg mountain. It was formed in 2014 through the merger of the former municipalities of Feldberg, Altglashütten, Neuglashütten, and Bärental. The area is characterized by its extensive forests, numerous lakes, and a strong tourism industry, particularly focused on outdoor recreation throughout the year.

Another significant Feldberg is a mountain in Switzerland, part of the Rätikon range in Graubünden. This Feldberg is not as high as its German namesake but is known for its challenging climbing routes and its location near the Austrian border. There are also smaller hills and localities named Feldberg in various German-speaking regions, generally referring to elevated terrain.
