Taubinsimítás is a traditional Hungarian embroidery technique. It is characterized by its use of wool yarns and a specific type of stitch that creates a dense and textured surface. The technique is often employed to decorate household textiles, such as tablecloths, pillows, and wall hangings. The name "Taubinsimítás" itself translates roughly to "dove smoothing," suggesting a soft and flowing quality to the finished work, perhaps reminiscent of the texture of dove feathers.

Historically, Taubinsimítás was practiced in various regions of Hungary, with regional variations in motifs and color palettes. Common designs include floral patterns, geometric shapes, and sometimes stylized animal figures.
