Szenzációkeresés, often translated as sensation-seeking or novelty-seeking, refers to a personality trait characterized by the desire for varied, novel, complex, and intense sensations and experiences, and the willingness to take risks for the sake of such experiences. Individuals high in sensation-seeking tend to be impulsive, extroverted, and less conventional. They are often drawn to activities that offer a high degree of stimulation, such as extreme sports, gambling, or frequent changes in social relationships and careers.

The concept was first developed by psychologist Marvin Zuckerman in the 1960s. Zuckerman proposed a multidimensional model of sensation-seeking, which includes four sub-factors: thrill and adventure seeking, experience seeking, disinhibition, and boredom susceptibility. Thrill and adventure seeking involves a desire for activities that involve speed, height, danger, and unusual environments. Experience seeking is a pursuit of new and exciting experiences through the mind and senses, often involving travel, art, music, and unconventional lifestyles. Disinhibition relates to a desire for social hedonism, such as a high sex drive and a tendency to engage in parties and drinking. Boredom susceptibility is an intolerance of repetition and monotony.

Sensation-seeking has been linked to various behaviors, including substance use, risky sexual behavior, and criminal activity, but it can also be associated with positive outcomes like creativity and entrepreneurialism. The trait is thought to have a significant genetic component, though environmental factors also play a role in its development. Understanding sensation-seeking can be valuable in fields like psychology, marketing, and criminology.
