Sydhavspärlor
South Sea pearls, or Sydhavspärlor, are cultivated pearls produced by the pearl oyster species Pinctada maxima in the warm waters of the South Pacific. The two recognized varieties are the silver-lipped and the gold-lipped oyster, named for the color of the inside of their shells. Pearls from these oysters are among the largest in the world and are notable for their thick nacre.
