A producer is an individual or organization involved in the creation and delivery of goods or services, responsible for planning, coordinating, financing, and overseeing production from conception to completion. The specific duties of a producer vary by industry but share a common aim of turning ideas into tangible outputs while managing resources, schedules, and risk.

In film and television, producers oversee development, secure financing, hire talent and crew, and manage production logistics and post-production. They coordinate budgets, schedules, and distribution plans, and may assume titles such as executive producer, producer, line producer, or associate producer, each reflecting different levels of responsibility and oversight in the project.

In music, producers guide the artistic and technical process of recording. They shape the sound, arrange performances, select takes, and supervise mixing and mastering, often working closely with artists, engineers, and studios.
