Suunnistusjärjestelmät, commonly known as navigation systems, are technologies and methodologies used to determine the position and guide movement of an object or person. These systems rely on various principles and components to provide spatial awareness and direction.

A fundamental aspect of many modern navigation systems is the use of satellite-based positioning. The Global Positioning System (GPS) is the most well-known example, utilizing a network of satellites orbiting the Earth to triangulate a receiver's location.
