Suorapainatusta

Suorapainatusta, also known as direct-to-garment (DTG) printing, is a method of applying digital designs directly onto textiles like t-shirts, hoodies, and other apparel. Unlike traditional screen printing which involves creating stencils for each color, suorapainatus utilizes specialized inkjet technology. The printer sprays a water-based ink directly onto the fabric surface. This ink then undergoes a curing process, often using heat, to permanently bond with the fibers.

The process begins with a digital design, typically created in graphic design software. This design is then sent to the DTG printer. The garment is placed onto the printer's flatbed, and the ink is applied precisely according to the digital file. One of the main advantages of suorapainatus is its ability to produce vibrant, full-color designs with intricate details and gradients, which can be difficult or expensive to achieve with other methods. It is also well-suited for small print runs and one-off custom orders, as there are no setup costs associated with screens.

However, suorapainatus is generally best suited for natural fibers like cotton, or cotton blends. Printing on synthetic materials can be more challenging. The durability of DTG prints can vary depending on the ink quality, garment type, and care instructions. While generally long-lasting, they may not be as robust as some other printing techniques for heavy-duty applications. The technology has seen significant advancements, leading to improved print quality, color accuracy, and faster production times.
