In radiology and other radiation-related contexts, suojaverhoilla refer to shielding curtains or screens that reduce scatter radiation exposure to personnel. They are usually made from leaded vinyl or composite materials and have a specified lead-equivalent thickness, commonly around 0.25 to 0.5 millimeters. These curtains are placed around imaging equipment or used as interposed barriers and must comply with relevant safety standards. Regular inspection is required to ensure integrity and effectiveness, and damaged curtains should be replaced promptly.
