Standardtvätt

Standardtvätt refers to a common laundry process typically performed in households or commercial laundries. It involves the cleaning of textiles using water, detergent, and mechanical action, usually within a washing machine. The goal of standardtvätt is to remove dirt, stains, and odors from fabrics, making them fresh and hygienic.

The process generally begins with sorting laundry based on color, fabric type, and soil level. Whites are usually washed separately from colors to prevent bleeding. Delicate fabrics may require a gentler cycle and cooler water temperatures. Before loading the machine, any heavily soiled areas might be pre-treated with stain removers.

During the wash cycle, the washing machine agitates the clothes in a mixture of water and detergent. This mechanical action, combined with the chemical properties of the detergent, loosens and lifts dirt from the fibers. The water is then drained, and the clothes are rinsed to remove soap residue. Finally, the machine spins to extract excess water.

After the wash cycle, clothes are typically dried using a clothes dryer or by air-drying on a line or rack. The specific temperature, cycle duration, and detergent used can be adjusted based on the type of fabric and the level of soiling, but the fundamental principles of standardtvätt remain consistent across various applications.
